In 1994, seemingly out of nowhere, an actress calling herself "Gillian Anderson" appeared on the television screens of America. Playing the role of FBI Special Agent Dana Scully, she partnered with an actor known as "David Duchovny" in a series created by one "Chris Carter" (no apparent relation to the Nobel-winning president). It was called "The X-Files", and become one of the Fox network's biggest hits. The series explored a number of mysteries and conspiracies from Tunguska to the Grassy Knoll to the Anasazi and beyond. But it never answered the growing questions about Ms. Anderson herself. Where did she come from? How did she develop her talents? How did she become an actor in the first place? Is she even a natural redhead? We investigated.
